| The Stroke of Fire
Evie came home from school one day with a strange smile on her face and something on her mind. As she swung her bag onto her bed and sat leaning against the pillow, she mumbled some thoughts to herself. Then at the corner of the eye, she saw something shimmered under the evening light. She picked up a metallic ensemble from the box under her bed.
Robo X. The toy robot was her birthday present years ago when her dad got promoted, and it had been her fascination for so many years. She logged onto her computer, and there it is her personal virtual robot which she had named after her favourite toy. She opened her notepad full of scribbles casually and something caught her mind. Her eyes gleamed. “That's it. Fuse them,” she blurted and started typing away on her keyword with intense focus.
If the grown-up world were full of possibilities, maybe she could still be what she had always dreamt of.
Hours drifted away and soon it was almost dawn. The worn-out Evie inserted something into Robo X. It was happening, unbelievably. “Transformation X completed,” the computer announced in monotone, oblivious to Evie’s excitement as she bounced around. The toy radiated with a soft glow, as if given a lease of life. “Transform X you now shall be,” Evie quipped.
This was the day Evie made the discovery of her lifetime yet: Code Fusion. And of course, she also brought her favourite toy robot into life, creating Transform X.
